Does Etsy charge a monthly fee in the UK?

Last checked 9 Oct 2026. Items marked date-sensitive can change; follow the source links before relying on them.

No, but some Etsy charges look monthly. This page lists each one, with the amount and Etsy's own page for it.

Short answer date-sensitive

No. A standard Etsy shop has no monthly subscription. Etsy's UK sell page says "No additional monthly fees" (etsy.com/uk/sell, read 9 Oct 2026). You pay per listing and per sale. Some charges can still feel monthly, and two optional subscriptions are monthly.

Why Etsy can send you a bill on the 1st

Etsy takes its fees out of your sales as you go. If in a month your fees, postage labels or refunds come to more than your earnings, Etsy says "you will have an amount due in the following month's billing cycle". A bill arrives on the 1st. Autobilling charges your card that day, and manual payment is open from the 1st to the 15th (Etsy Help: How to manage your Payment account). That's the usual reason people think Etsy has a monthly fee.

Is Etsy Plus worth $10 a month?

Count the credits first. 15 listing credits are worth 15 × $0.20 = $3, and the Etsy Ads credit is $5, so $8 of the $10 comes back if you'd use both anyway. The other $2 or so pays for the extras: more shop layouts, restock requests and unlimited Marketplace Insights searches. If you list fewer than 15 items a month and don't run Etsy Ads, the credits are worth less to you. Sellers make the same calculation in an r/EtsySellers thread.

Subscriptions are charged in USD and converted. Etsy's Fees & Payments Policy says it may add VAT ("Where applicable, Etsy may charge local taxes (e.g. sales taxes or VAT/GST) on your monthly subscription fee").
