Etsy monthly statement CSV summary
Etsy's monthly statement CSV has every sale, fee, refund and deposit, one row each. Sellers on Reddit describe the same routine: download it every month, sort by type in Excel, add up each fee. Drop the file(s) here and get those totals by month, with Etsy's fees split by type and VAT on fees shown separately.
Private by design: your statement is read by this page on your own computer and is never uploaded. A browser security policy blocks the page from sending data anywhere except Cloudflare's cookieless page-view counter, which only counts visits. No Etsy login, no account. Privacy note.
1. Get the file from Etsy
Shop Manager → Finances → Monthly statements (or Payment account → View all monthly statements) → choose the month → Generate CSV. Etsy says you can work out your fees by downloading this CSV (Etsy Help: How to manage your Payment account). Use the monthly statement CSV, not the Orders CSV.
2. Drop one or more statement CSVs
No file to hand? (fictional shop; also downloadable).
Summary
By month
Where the money went: fees by type
Fee types are read from the row Title (e.g. "Transaction fee: …", "Processing fee"). Fee credits (refunded fees) reduce the totals.
How the numbers are worked out
- Net from Etsy is the sum of the
Netcolumn, leaving outDepositandPaymentrows. Those move money you've already earned to your bank, so counting them would double-count. - Sales uses the
Amountof eachSalerow (item + postage the buyer paid). - Etsy fees are
Feerows plus VAT charged on Etsy's fees. Marketing is Offsite Ads, Etsy Ads and subscriptions. Buyer tax/VAT is tax Etsy collected from buyers and paid on; it isn't your money. - Rows with a type it doesn't recognise go into Other, and the page lists them so nothing disappears silently.
- Dates like "September 26, 2026", "26 September 2026", "26. September 2026" and 26/09/2026 (UK order) are read. Months are taken from the row date, so a sale near midnight US Eastern time on the last day of a month can land in a different month from your bank statement.
Honest caveats
- This was built from Etsy's help pages and published descriptions of the statement's 8 columns (Date, Type, Title, Info, Currency, Amount, Fees & Taxes, Net), and tested on a made-up file. Etsy can change the format. If your totals look wrong, compare one month with the Activity summary in your Payment account.
- It doesn't convert currencies. If your file has more than one currency, it warns you.
- Not accounting or tax advice. Your accountant may want the raw CSVs too.
FAQ
Where do I download my Etsy monthly statement CSV?
Shop Manager → Finances → Monthly statements → pick the month → Generate CSV. Etsy may email you a link when it's ready.
Why doesn't my Etsy deposit match my sales?
Deposits are Etsy paying out your balance after fees, refunds, postage labels and ads have been taken off, on your deposit schedule. A deposit can include sales from the previous month. Compare the "Net from Etsy" here with your deposits over a few months, not one.
Is "Net from Etsy" my profit?
No. It's what Etsy leaves you after its fees, ads and labels. Take off your own costs (materials, packaging, postage you bought elsewhere) to get profit. Use the "other costs" box for a rough figure.
Does it work with several months at once?
Yes. Select several monthly CSVs together; the table shows one row per month.
What's the "VAT on Etsy fees" line?
UK sellers who haven't given Etsy a VAT ID pay 20% VAT on Etsy's seller fees. See the Etsy VAT guide.
